The Team
The Dundee Dragons Swim Club was founded in 2007. We compete during the fall, winter, and summer seasons. The Dundee Dragons offer highly qualified coaching and technique instruction. Our goal for all swimmers is to provide an equal opportunity to improve their swimming abilities and become successful in their age group. The Dragons strive to have all swimmers achieve their goals and develop into competitive swimmers.

The Dundee Dragons is supported by an elected Board of Directors which meets quarterly. All Board Members are parent volunteers that have demonstrated a passion for the club. All swim parents are encouraged to attend parent meetings prior to each season and be involved in team activities and fundraisers.

Children of all ages are welcome.

About Head Coach Jeremy Layman

Coach Layman began coaching/teaching swimming when he was 15 at the Monroe YMCA.
He started coaching for the SMAC program in 2000 as an assistant coach to the younger kids.
Within 2 years was Head Age Group coach and was 2nd in command. During this time Jeremy
also coached for Monroe Middle School. His time at Monroe Middle School he developed several
MISCA champions and several winning relays. During the 4 years at MMS swimmers broke 90%
of all school records. In 2004 Jeremy began coaching for Monroe High School.  2 years as an
assistant coach and 6 years as Head Coach working with both the women’s and men’s teams. Taking over as Head Coach for SMAC in 2006. While Head Coach at SMAC and MHS, several swimmers were state champions and half a dozen All Americans. Under Coach Layman instruction swimmers have qualified and competed for State, Zone, Sectional, Junior National, National, U.S. OPEN, and Olympic Trial Meets. One of the things that he is most proud of is that most of the kids that he has coached year round all went on to swim in college, and not only that, but almost every one of those also became their collegiate team captains.. leaders among the best!

Jeremy started coaching because he loves the sport of swimming.  His main goal as a coach is to get swimmers to enjoy the sport. Not everyone will be a state champ, he never was, but everyone can experience their own success if they truly enjoy what they are doing.  Jeremy also believes that forming friendships, developing a feeling of belonging and learning to share experiences with others is important to children.
